FISA "a reasonable compromise"

NEW YORK Debatten om FRA, nej, jag menar FISA, fortgår även i USA – även om det sker lite mer i marginalerna här än i Sverige. Här kan den intresserade läsa hur Washington Posts ledarredaktion försvarar den amerikanska spionlagen. Som vanligt låter det som om vore det ett eko från den svenska debatten, exempel:

We are under no illusion that the measure is perfect; future fine-tuning may well be called for. The classified nature of the surveillance program makes it impossible to assess the implications with anything near certainty. But the legislation reflects, as far as we can tell, a reasonable compromise, worked out over long months of negotiations, between the legitimate needs of intelligence agencies and the legitimate privacy interests of Americans.

Apropå FRA, Oscar Swartz har just fått ett mycket välförtjänt erkännande som årets medborgarjournalist i Almedalen!
