2006: spekulationer om Obama i valet 2012

CHICAGO Jag var i Chicago för några år sedan, för att göra ett reportage för tidningen Gourmet. Då köpte jag den senaste Lonely Planet som resehandbok, och på sidan 23 kan man där läsa följande:

CNN called him "the Democrats' calm rock star". He calls himself "a skinny guy from the South Side with a funny name". His supporters are eager to call him "Mr President". Whatever the moniker, Chicago resident and freshman Illinois Senator Barack Obama is clearly the man everyone's watching on the political landscape

At 44 years old, Obama is likely too young for a 2008 White House bid. But 2012? Who knows. The future is definitely looking bright for this skinny guy from the South Side with a funny name.
